Christian Study Center
When a Christian student comes to a secular campus they are often met with barriers and false identities. This project provides a comfortable home for the faith of Christians studying on a secular campus. Students that experience this building will gain a sense of identity for their faith and will feel at peace with the building’s human scale. After feeling comfort in the project, students will then be able to study free of worry while still having their faith at the center of their daily life. In designing this project I was able to learn about a specific architectural typology that is set apart from all other architecture. Having that specificity gave me perspective on the user and a better understanding of how to use architecture not just in the general sense of the field.
